Entering operation times
Open: Works Orders > Processing > Enter Costs > Operation Times/Costs.
- Select the works order from the drop-down list.
- If the works order is a one-off operation, select the stage from the drop-down list. The operation details are displayed in the window.

If the operation is not on the list (it is an addition to the estimated operations) or if the works order is a batch order (the works order was not created from an estimate), you will need to enter a Reference and Description manually.
Note: Once created, operations are permanently stored against works orders.

If appropriate, enter the quantity now completed.
If this is not a batch works order, leave the quantity as 0 (zero), or enter 1 as appropriate.

Enter the Labour, Machine, Setup and Subcontract cost times.
Time formatsManufacturing has a unique entry system for entering times. You can enter time in any of the following formats:
Entering 65 displays 65h 0m (65 hours zero minutes).
Entering 6{space}5 displays 6h 5m (6 hours 5 minutes).
Entering 6h5m displays 6h 5m (6 hours 5 minutes).
Entering 65m displays 1h 5m (1 hour 5 minutes).

Enter costs.

Click in the Costs box from the Enter Operation Times/Costs or Enter Timesheets windows to enter operation costs.
The costs so far recorded against the operation are displayed, broken down over the various cost headings.
- If entering operations:
- If the operation has been stored via an estimate or from the operations register This holds details of frequently used operations. Using the register enables fast creation of BOMs or estimates., the cost of the time entered will already have been calculated for each category.
- If this is an additional operation not drawn from the Operations Register you will need to enter rates as appropriate.
- If entering timesheets, and you have decided not to use the employee rate for timesheets, then the rate from the operation will be used.
- Enter any notes required on this window for information purposes only.
- To save the details, click OK.
